Community Grooves - Sept. - Time-Based Arts Festival, Hispanic Heritage Festival

On September's Community Grooves program, we preview the Time Based Art Festival and start of Hispanic Heritage month. Guests are Erin Boberg Doughton from PICA (Portland Institute for Contemporary Art) and Antonio Sonera of the Miracle Theater (Centro Milagro).

Behind the Screen, Homegrown DocFest

KBOO has a new program, “Behind the Screen”, about the independent film scene in the Portland area.
I am glad to be joining the “cast” as one of the co-producers and co-hosts. Behind the Screen will air on the 4th week of the month 11:30-12noon, premiering this Thursday. You can tune in at 90.7FM in Portland or online at www.kboo.fm
This week’s program includes a segment about NW Documentary’s summer Homegrown DocFest. Student works, including an audio piece I did, will premiere at the Mission Theater on Friday night.www.nwdocumentary.org.

Community Grooves 8/7 - Our United VIllages, India Cultural Association

The Community Grooves program features diverse community associations and upcoming cultural events.

On Friday August 7th at 11:30 am, I am joined in the studio by: Vanessa Patterson and Kate Erickson, Community outreach team from Our United Villages - www.ourunitedvillages.org

We learn more about these associations and upcoming events - including the Intercultural Community Gathering on 8/15 and India Festival on 8/16.

Community Grooves - 7/3 - Oregon Country Fair, Oregon Recreation and Parks Association


The Community Grooves program airs this Friday 7/3 at 11-11:30am (special time), and will feature a discussion with Marcus Hinz, new Executive Director, and Charlie Ruff, Operations Manager of the Oregon Country Fair, as well as Amanda Rich, Executive Director of the Oregon Recreation and Parks Association.

Community Grooves on KBOO now on 1st Fridays

I am delighted that KBOO has chosen the Community Grooves program to be included in its regular public affairs lineup. http://kboo.fm

In this program, I feature diverse community organizations and cultural events, airing on the 1st Fridays of the month from 11:30am-12noon. 

Waterfront Blues Festival

KBOO is broadcasting live from the 22nd annual Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland this weekend. I am excited to be announcing/co-hosting the radio broadcast on Saturday, the 4th ofJuly from 6:30-10pm Pacific Time (just before the fireworks!)

The 2nd largest blues festivals in the country, this event is a major fundraiser (foodraiser) for the Oregon Food Bank. www.waterfrontbluesfest.com
